10 #TEKswoons of Autumn
Autumn is here and we’re definitely not complaining. Autumn in the UK is quite a whistle stop season but it doesn’t stop it being any less beautiful. The weather might be colder and Christmas might be (scarily) fast approaching but here at TEK, Autumn might just be our favourite season and here’s our 10 reasons why…

The first thing that pops into our head when we think of Autumn? Leaves. Red, yellow, orange and green leaves. Everywhere. There’s something really special about the fresh air on a lovely Autumnal walk, some our favourite spots to clear our head in Birmingham include Canon Hill Park and Winterbourne House and Garden.
1 ~ Leaves
Admittedly we (some of us more than others) have been waiting all summer for the arrival of this signature espresso and in our opinion the first sip marks the official first day of Autumn. And when we’ve almost drank Starbucks out of their Autumnal drink, we’re also partial to a cheeky turmeric latte from some of our favourite Birmingham coffee spots Cafe Artum and Caffeined, our independent locals.
2 ~ Pumpkin Spice Latte
We love the natural day light and long days that summer blesses us with but we can’t deny that these darker nights give us something else to be excited about ~ candles. We finally have an excuse to light all of our candles, hello cosy studio! Our favourite candle right now? 'Autumn Fig' by Honest, which creates a peaceful, warming, soothing and soulful mood.

We’re never stuck for plans when Digbeth Dining Club is on and during the Autumn months our favourite street food spot has never felt so cosy! We’re especially excited for some of our favourite traders Buddha Belly, Wholesome Junkies and Original Patty Men, fingers crossed we see more of their ‘No Bones’ event this Autumn!

As you may already have noticed, we change up our graphics seasonly to keep our brand identity fresh and updated but our Autumnal graphics always happen to top our other seasonal designs (in our opinion!)

We’re BIG fans of this spooky time of year at TEK, I mean how can you not love dressing up, pumpkin carving and horror films?! This year we’re planning on heading to the UK’s oldest working cinema The Electric for their showing of ‘Shock & Gore: Beetlejuice 30th Anniversary’ on Saturday 27th October and maybe even a little 'Dracular Wine Tasting' on the 31st.
Talking about pumpkin carving ~ who else gets ridiculously excited about pumpkin picking? Two of our favourite spots to go and pick pumpkins has to be Essington Farm and the self explanatory Pumpkins R Us, we could get lost in their orange fields all month!
In our Birmingham HQ tea is on a constant demand, which always gives us an excuse to splurge on a new mug or two from some of our favourite Harborne independents Kin Home or Hedge ~ as tea always tastes better in the right mug.

As much as we love the sunshine, is there anything better than getting out your favourite jumper that you’ve been waiting months to wear? Right now we’ve got our eye on so much lovely knitwear but Free People’s Cosy Thoughts Pullover, Zara’s Oversized Seater and &Other Stories Mock Neck Varisty Strip Sweater.
6 ~ Oversized knits
7 ~ Halloween
How many of these do you relate to? Winter might be round the corner now but we’re going to soak up every second of Autumn before it’s time for Christmas decorations and Birmingham’s German Market!
One of our favourite thing in the whole wide world is getting a big blanket and sitting in front of the fire with a book. Don’t have a fireplace? There is a solution ~ Netflix Fireplace For Your Home series. It sounds a little crazy but trust us you’ll soon feel the peacefulness of an old-fashioned, wood-burning fireplace.
